Early Move-In
Where will I live during Recruitment?
Women participating in fall formal recruitment living on-campus will be allowed to move into their residence prior to the start of Panhellenic Primary Recruitment. Women living off-campus will need to make arrangements to move into their apartment or house prior to the start of recruitment. Neither UA nor the UA Panhellenic is responsible for providing housing accommodations for women living off-campus during the week of recruitment.
Is there a cost for early move-in?
Early Move-In to the UA residence halls costs an additional $180. Please note that participation in Primary Recruitment requires that you move into your on-campus residence during early move-in. The online Move-In sign-up process will begin in June 2025. All students living on campus who register for Primary Recruitment will be able to sign up for an early move-in time through their housing application. After the registration application is complete and the early move-in fee is paid through Campus Director, it will take about 4-5 days for Housing and Residential Communities to process a new roster so that you can see the early days when you log in. You will receive an email from HRC indicating that you are participating in an early activity when we have an updated roster. If you have not received an email from Housing and Residential Communities (HRC) after the 4-5 day waiting period, you can email moveinhelp@sa.ua.edu for scheduling assistance. HRC will assign students who have not selected a move-in time by late July.
Individuals living off-campus will need to make alternate arrangements for early move-in.
How does early on-campus move-in work?
The online Move-In sign-up process will begin in June 2025. All students who register for Primary Recruitment will be able to sign up for an early move-in time through their housing application. Students who do not register before June 1 will experience a 4-5 day delay in accessing early move-in times online. Students can email moveinhelp@ua.edu for scheduling assistance after the 4-5 day waiting period. Students who do not have a Move-In time by late July will be assigned a time by Housing and Residential Communities (HRC).
At the end of July, all students will receive an email with their check-in date and time, driving directions, and parking instructions sent to their UA Crimson email account. This email must be used during Move-In, so be sure to bring it with you.
In order to make the Move-In process as easy and efficient as possible, the number of students who can move in at each time during the day is limited. Allowing students to continue to select Move-In times that are already filled makes the process more difficult for families, students, and volunteers assisting with the process. We appreciate your understanding and your selection of another time if your first choice is already filled.
NOTE: Please arrive on your assigned day and time. If you arrive outside of your assigned Move-In period, you will be directed to a holding area and will be required to wait until your assigned time or until move-in operations have ceased for the day.
